NORTH VANCOUVER
District. Council is serving
notice to B.C. Transit that it
does not support proposed
changes to the 229 route ser-
ving the Westlynn area.

. The changes, slated to -

come into effect in June,
would’ separate the current
route into two sections with
the revised 229 route running
from |Lonsdale Quay’ to
Lynn Valley Centre, looping
via Ross, Duval, Peters and
Lynn Valley Road.

The revised route would
serve ‘approximately 60" “per”

cent or 1,055 persons in the
existing service area,

The new route, 216-
Arborlynn, would serve the
remaining 40 per cent in the

coverage area, and provide a

half‘hour. peak period service.

Ridership is predicted to

be reduced by approximately ©

5,500 as a result of the
change, with the net. cost
savings projected at $69,000.
