POLICE BLOTTER Youth nabs driver AN ALERT 18-year-old West Vancouver male helped police nab a suspected drink- ing driver after a minor traf- fic accident Sunday evening. The youth was stopped at a red light at 15th and Lonsdale when his vehicle was struck from behind by another. When the two. drivers pulled over to exchange in- surance information, the vouth noticed the other driver had been drinking and stalled for time while a pas- senger in his car went to call police. When police showed up, the panicked driver tried to flee, ramming the police car once before he was taken in- to custody. Charges of impaired driv- ing and refusing a breath test are pending against a 54- year-old North Vancouver man.
