Vancouver Police who are
logging an increasing number
of residential break-ins
across the municipality.

In the most recent rash of
incidents, they are dealing
with day-tume break ins or
attempts

Police are appealing to the
pubhe for word of anything
suspicious seen in the arcas
where the incident took
place

At the same time, they are
advising residents of = the
municipality to ensure their
homes are secure and that
steps are taken to reduce the
loss of valuables if a burglar
is successful

Among ways sesidents can
deal with that, police say, are
to borrow engravers from the
department to mark
valuables, to photograph
valuables to aid in identifica
uon of recovered stolen pro
perty and to consider reduc
Ing the amount of caxapensive
jewelry in the house — often
® prime target of thieves
