Otters swim to success Fhe West Vancouver Otters swim club is really churning up the water this season. It captured 13 medals at the annual Sprint West Meet and came in 5th overall in a 24 team field. The swimmers also achieved four more Western National qualifying times: Allen gets hat trick BILL ALLEN led Park Royal Super Valu to a 5-4 victory over the North Vancouver Beavers with a hat trick and an assist in a North Shore Intermediate Hockey League game last weekend. As far as team _ per- formance goes, the Otters put in their best showing this year when they defeated their arch-rivals, The Vernon Kokanees at the Vermon Snowball met last weekend. This is the first time that the Otters have beaten the Kokanees and they did it in grand style. The final team standings: Otters 623, Vernon Kokanees 448, Kelowna from the management and Staff of The Fish Aqua Jets 427, Killarney 180, Summerland 126, Penticton 18. What made the victory so sweet was that the Vernon team had 90 swimmers and the Otters 49. Individually the Otters brought home 5 aggregate trophies: Danielle Russell 9 & 10 girls, Carolyne Reeder 11 & 12 girls, Mike Car- penter 11 & 12 boys, Ian Hylands 13 & 14 boys and Ellen Stewart 15 -17 girls. Also showing that the team is developing depth this year, five runner-up aggregates were broupht home: Andra Anglin 11 & 12 girls, Adrian Robertson 11 & 12 boys, Carrie Lehman 13 & 14 girls, Bruce Carpenter 13 & 14 boys and Sandi Melody 15-17 girls.
