West Van couple returns after 10 years al sea

IMAGINE sailing around the world tor 10 vears. Well, tor ane Ber]
West Vancouver couple, it was a dream come truce. Rosemarie
and Adolf Bochm bravely set out 10 years ago in their 33-toor
sailboat to conquer the world. And jas’ Sunday, their journey
came to an end as they returned home to find tamaly and triends
waiting for them on the dock of the West Vancouver Yacht
Club. On their travels, they managed to visit 48 countries. The
stories will rake vears to tefl, Rosemarie, who became known as
the “bailoon lady,” generously gave cothing: and balloons to
children in poorer countries: After sailing through all kinds of
dangers, “Captain” Adolf still counts the Oregon coast as the
most perilous, Both said New Zealand was one of their favorite
places. Welcome home.

Rosemarie and Adolf Boehm have traveiled the
world on their 33-foot. Saturna sailboat. But even after
10 years at sea, and after visiting 48 different coun-
tries, they still say there is no place like home. “Canada
is the best,” said Rosemarie. “Nothing compares.”

It’s the Boehm boys: brothers Juergan (ot), Victor (cen-
tre) and Peter Boehm helped their sisters in welcoming
mom and dad home. After greeting them at the dock, a
garden party was held at Victor’s house.

These Boehm grandchildren have grown a fot over the
