re-routed off
Steep street

FOLLOWING a six-month trial
period, the experimental #257
Horseshoe Bay Ex-
press/Vancouver bus service is be-
ing re-routed off Westmcunt
Road.

West Vancouver District Coun-
cil followed Ald. Ron Wood's
lead Monday night in voting to
remove the service from the very
steep Westmount Road-to-3Ist
Street route because of local resi-
dent complaints and because it
failed to increase ridership.

The expansion of the service
was successful, but most riders -
were commuters from Bowen
Island and the Sunshine Coast.

The #257 will return to its old
route via 15th Street.
