ROSEMARY A. Barnes of

became the second woman
in the history of the Real
Estate Board of Greater
Vancouver to be installed
president Tuesday, Feb. 19
at the Hotel Vancouver dur-
ing the 72nd Annual
Meeting of the Board.

The 15-year veteran of the
Real Estate industry and
long-time Coquitlam _ resi-
dent who works in the
Tri-City area of Coquitlam,
Port Coquitlam and Port
Moody, will lead the
7,700-member board with
the support of colleague and
husband Bill Barnes and

Barnes has been a
member of the board since
1976 and was first elected a
director of the Burnaby/
Coquitlam/New
Westminster division of the
board in 1985, and named
president in 1986 and 1987.
During her term as division
president, she served on the
Board Directorate. the
Multiple Listing Service and
Publicity and Public Rela-
tions Committees and later,
chaired the Busitess Prac-
tices Committee and
Management Board.
