SUZUKI’S NEW for 1989, 4x4
sports/utility vehicle, the Sidekick,
is an on- and off-road warrior in
the Samurai tradition, but with a
softer side to its personality that
offers a heightened level of both
luxury and comfort, at a. still
highly affordable price.

The first Suzuki 4x4 appeared in
Canada in the 1970s, readily
establishing a market niche among
primarily young buyers for a sty-
lish but utilitarian, rugeed and
sporty downsize 4x4.

Suzuki expects the more upscale
Sidekich, with its attractive,

aerodynamic, wedge-styled

bodywork to expand this group of

buyers by offering a vehicle with a
higher level of standard equip-
ment, and a lengthy list of options
that will allow owners to customize
and personatize their vehicles to a
high depree.

It expects the Sidekick to have
particular appeal to both men and
women in the 18 to 39 year age
group. ‘The Sidekick’s appeal
won't be limited to off-road buffs

the go-anywhere capability of
four-wheel-drive gives Sidekick a

high level of appeal to urban and
suburban buyers as well.
