Local celebrities’ in “attendance included Mayor Don. Lanskail, West Vancouver-Howe Sound MLA John Reynolds and his wife Yvonne, Capt. Vancouver and BCTY anchorman Tony Parsons. The parade, consisting of floats, music and many people, drew a crowd and by 12 noon the street was full of face painters, clowns, magicians and dancers. Linda Casey organized a dog show, which was sponsored by Paw Prints of Horseshoe Bay. The winners for most beautiful dog in the handler under 12 years of age category were Jeffery Waters and his dog Midnight. ; Winners for most beautiful dog in | the handler over 12 years of age category were Scott Klingmann and his dog Willi. First prize winner in the happiest dog with handler under !2 was Rachel Morgan with Emma. The winner in the over 12 category was Morgan Johnstone with Rodney. The prize for the best matched dog and dad contest went to Bob Duncan and Bess. Along with a month's supply of IAMS dog food, each winner receives a “family portrait and a professional grooming courtesy of Paw Prints of Horseshoe Bay. Their pets will also be the subject of a professional portrait by animal photographer Linda Lindt. The dogs were judged for their happiness, health, obedience and appearance by Dr. Joel Parker, ~ veterinarian; Ann Jackson, dog consultant; Ann Yuile, dog fan- cier; and anchorman Parsons, The successful Dog Fish Derby was organized by the Seymour Salmonid Society. The top winner was Telly Leong of Port Co- quitlam, who caught a 12 Ib. dog ’ fish to take the first prize of a 12 foot. car-top boat Alcan of Canada. : Second prize, a dinner for four at the. Troller Pub,:'was won by Paul Plank of North Vancouver donated by for his 5 Ib., 2% oz. catch. Rick Greenlees of North Van- couver took the third prize — a grease oil and filter change from Horseshoe Bay Texaco — with a 4-Ib., 13-02. fish. Karen Davies of North Van- couver won a fish and chip dinner for four at Trolls Restaurant with” her catch of 4 Ibs., 84% ozs. Rachel Riddal! of West Van- couver won a $25 Park Royal gift certificate for her 4 Ib., 7 oz. fish. Jim Hong of Surrey caught a 4- Ib., %-o0z. fish and won a Park Royal gift certificate for $25. The winner of the Why My Dad is the Best Dad in the World, Rachel Morgan, daughter of Dr. lan Morgan, won a Sunday Family Brunch at the Keg Boathouse.
