Of the $486,200, $402,200 is for two innovative projects and $84,200 is for general equipment upgrading, said college president Dr. Douglas Jardine. While Jardine considers one of the projects fairly routine, the other involves trying to spread computer technology throughout the college. The concept is already in prog- ress. does. Because many of his stu- dents run into the same problems, he can give them better and faster critiques of their work using pre- programed explanations on how to fix common problems: The program will enable stu- dents to write their essays on the college’s computer terminals ‘and then transfer them directly to the instructor’s terminal. The instruc- tor in turn can mark and correct the essay right on his terminal. Referring to the funds for general upgrading, Jardine said: “The $84,000 for capital (projects) satisfies a desperate need.
