The theme for the window displays is ‘‘Heritage’’. Awards will be presented to winning merchants at 8 p.m., Monday, June 24, in the Centennial! Theatre. Deadline for entries is next Tuesday, June 18. Judging will take place Friday and Saturday, June 21-22. Craft Fair NORTH VAN artists and craftsmen of all ages will be displaying their creations throughout the 10 days of Folkfest ’85 at the Civic Plaza, 14th and Lonsdale. The Folkfest Craft Fair -- featuring local painters, sculptors, potters, weavers, doll makers, jewelry makers and glass workers -- takes place there daily (except Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, June 20 through Saturday, June 29. The Mounties will be par- ticipating, too, with displays illustrating the colorful and heroic history of the force. Except on the Sunday and the two Saturdays, special events will take place each noon, with demonstrations on various subjects. On Thursday and Friday, June 20-21, the subject will be bonsai, the art of dwarf- ing trees. The following week brings noon-hour demonstrations of Ikebana flower arranging (Monday, June 24); hair styling (Tues- day, June 25); Westera flower arranging (Wednes- day, June 26); and cake decorating (Thursday, June 27). The final special events Friday, June 28, feature fashion advice, starting at 14:30 a.m., followed by a discussion of camera pro- blems at I p.m. and 3 p.m. Also on that day, from noon to | p.m., RCMP of- ficers have consented to be photographed in their color- ful historic uniforms -- to save you the trouble of going to Banff or Ottawa in order to have your picture taken with a Mountie.
