The Buzzards had built up a 41 lead on goals by Mike Pajskar, Arlo Sjoberg, Al Asance and Ross Miller. The Drijlers then went to work and got goals from Rene Marleau and Hal Jenkins to Narrow the gap to one goal with time running out. The Drillers pulled their goalie and apphed a lot of pressure, but were unable to get the ty- ing goal. The win for The Buzzards moved them into second place one point ahead of Drillers and five back of first place Canadians and T. White were the goal scorers for Canadians, while Val Robertson and John Pain got goals each for Crows. West Van Firefighters. earned their second win of the season by defeating War- riors 3-2. The Firefighters earned full marks for their hard work. Warriors opened the scoring on a goal by Larry Brailey, then Firefighters answered with goals by Steve Sentes, and Murray Chatwin, to take the lead. A goal by Rob Batman tied it up for Warriors, but some good play and their goal by Steve Sentes put the Firefighters back in the lead for good Lacrosse bursaries THE B.C. Lacrosse Associa- tion established a scholarship program to recognize outstanding contribution to lacrosse and to assist in the pursuit of post-secondary education recently. Scholarships will be award- ed in six categories based on the individual’s own area of Participation — players, referees, coaches and team management are all eligible for recognition.
