student Bruce
Blackman has been
declared by

psychiatrists to be unfit
to stand trial on
charges of murdering
his parents and four
other members of his
family.

Bruce Blackman, 22, was
returned to Port Coquitlam
provincial court Wednesday

Port Coquitlam indefinitely.
He would be returned to
Stand trial once doctors
decided he was fit to do so.

He is charged with killing
his parents, Richard and
Irene Blackman, his !6-year-
old brother Rick, his two
sisters - Karen Rhodes, aged
25, and Roberta Davies, 28,
and his brother-in-law, 39-
year-old John Davies.

The Blackman family had
moved to the Coquitlam
home in 1979, having lived in
Lynn Valley for a number of
years until then.

trial into the deaths of the six
who were shot and beaten
January 18 in the Coquitlam
home of Blackman's parents.

The court heard
assessments from three
psychiatrists - two for, the
Crown and one for the
defence.
