offer racing fans a unique

The ‘Official Molson Indy
Radio Hat’? may be a mouthful,
but the idea of housing an AM/
FM radio, complete with car-
phones, in the stitching of a
baseball hat has all the makings of
a winner.

Martin Hirons, marketing man-
ager of West Vancouver-based
Optimum Importing, said the
pairing of the Taivanese-made
radio hats and an Indy event just
seemed a natural.

“The Vancouver Indy is the
first time we’ve tried to merchan-
dise this product,’’ said Hirons.
“Hopefully it will catch on and
we can design hats for other pro-
fessional sporting events.”’

Hirons hopes that the concept
will attract CFL fans who like ta
watch the game live while listening
to the radio broadcast.

During the Indy, the radio hat
will allow race fans to keep in
touch with the action that is not
visible from their seats on the
track via the live radio broadcast.
It will also keep the sun off their
face.
