After slow starts, the men’s and women’s teams both finished the regular season in second place following weekend games. The men edged Trinity Western University (TWU) 2-1 last Saturday, thanks in large part to some outstanding goaltending by Cap keeper Steve London. Forward Romolo Ferrari capped a strong regular season with the game winner in the second half. Capilano now faces Malaspina in opening round playoff action in Kamloops. The team finished the regular season with an identical record to the Blues, so the game should be a thriller. The Lady Blues-also finished second in league play, capping their regular season with a 3-1 win over winless BCIT on Sunday. Cap goals were scored by Melissa Game Sponsor AMERICAN EXPRESS Artuse, Lana Cooper and Charlene Roe. Their opening playoff game in Kamloops is against third-place Langara.
