Friday, February 26, 1993 - North Shore News - 47 Rhodo society holds sale THE VANCOUVER Rhododendron Society is hav- ing a sale of members’ plants at Clay’s Nurseries, 3666 - 224th St. in Langley, on Sun- day, March 21 from 1 to 4 p.m, This is an opportunity to purchase well-grown, inexpen- ‘sive plants. Many of these plants are hybrids and species not commonly found in nurseries. Various rhododendrons can provide continuous blooms from early February right through to August. And some rhododendrons wilt not grow more than six inches high while others may grow 20 feet. Blossom colors include white, red, blue, yellow, pink, purple and even green. Two- toned, frilly-edged, flat blossoms; deep trumpets; large trusses or individual blossoms are also available. On Saturday, March 27, from noon to 5 p.m., the Van- couver Rhododendron Society is having a show of early blooming rhododendron species and hybrids at the David C. Lam Botanical Centre at the UBC Asian Gardens. ° This shaw is open to the public, and admission is free. In addition, there will be a sale of members’ rhododen- dron plants, both early and later blooming, which will in- clude many unusual and hard to find rhododendrons. The David C.
