North Shore locations to celebrate Port Day PORT DAY ‘91 celebrations are scheduled to be held May 12 this year on the North Shore and in three other areas. Port Day is an annual open house organized by the Vancouver Port Corp. (VPC) for the general public to celebrate the contribu- tions of the Vancouver port to the social and economic well-being of the Lower Mainland area, This year it will be held at the Pacific Marine Training Institute (PMTI) and at the adjacent Waterfront Park on the North Shore, Ballantyne Terminal. in Vancouver, Westshore Terminals at Roberts Bank and, for the first time, at Pacific Coast Termi- nals in Port Moody. “We are fortunate in having a particularly enthusiastic group of exhibitors and organizers on the North Shore and are locking for- ward to offering to North Shore residents a terrific day of free harbor cruises, exhibits, demonstrations and entertain- ment,’’ said Trace Acres, VPC manager of communications. Special Port Day attractions on the North Shore will include an open house at PMTI, an open house aboard the S.S.
