Natives hold
open house

ON FRIDAY, November 6, the
Urban Native Indian Education
Society will be hosting an open
house and traditional Indian
gathering in recognition of the
20th Anniversary of the Native
Education Centre. .

The open house will be an op-
portunity for Vancouver residents
to see the largest post-secondary
education and training centre for
native people in B.C. in operation.
The gathering will feature tradi-
tional native foods and an evening
of Indian cultural sharing.

The open house will be from
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. while the
gathering will go from 6:00 - 9:30
p.m. Both events will take place at
the Native Education Centre, 285
East Fifth Ave., Vancouver.

The open house and gathering
reflect the 20 years of work the
Native Education Centre has done
to promote the history and culture
of Indian people along with
developing unique education and
training programs that will enable
Indian people to develop their own
communities.
