music minds will join forces

Pece Musicianship Festival.

Carter, founder of the Vancoaver
Music Festival workshop, . will
evaluate students in one of the

The festival, held biannually, |

ticipate in events such as com-
position, sulo and variation, im-
provisation and ensemble play-
ing.

The. public is invited to attend
the festival, which runs from 9:30
am. to 3 p.m., and particalarly

Discover alternative theatre

TAMAHNOUS THEATRE is holding a public
workshop on the creation of alternative performance
Feb. 17 at the Cinderella Ballroom in Vancouver.

Called ‘‘Passics in Process,’’ the four-hour
workshop begins with a clip from Josef von Stern-
berg’s film The Devil is a Woman featuring Marlene
Dietrich.

Using the film as a source material, a group of
facilitators will work with young artists towards the
creation of an original performance piece.

Panel members include co-artistic director of
Headlines Theatre, Michael Green, Globe and Mail
arts critic Liam Lacey and writer Ann Rosenberg.
