UBC scholarships awarded

THE UNIVERSITY of 3.C. has awarded major en-
trance: scholarships to two West Vancouver high
school graduates who begin classes at UBC this

September.”

: The scholarships, which range in value from $2,500
to $20,000, are based on the studenis’ scholastic
achievements and personal qualities.

Kenneth MacCallum, a graduate of West Van-

‘couver secondary school, has been awarded the Jack

R. Longstaffe Scholarship. The scholarship is worth
$2,500 in the first year, and if scholarship standing is
maintained, another $2,500 in each subsequent year of
study.

Simon MacNair, also a graduate of West Van-
couver secondary schol, has been awarded the Presi-
dent’s Entrance Scholarship. The scholarship is worth
$2,500 in the first year, and another $1,200 in each
subsequent year of study, provided scholarship stand-
ing is maintained.
