Alcohol cause of suicide A CORONER’S inquiry in- ‘vestigating the May 4 North Van- couver death of a Burnaby RCMP officer points to alcohol as the cause of the suicide. Coroner Diane Messier conclud- ed Cpl. Robert William Woolf had a history of alcohol abuse and shct hiraself during a bout of alcohol- fuelled depression. An autopsy of the deceased found that Woolf had a blood alcohol reading between .22 and .27. Woolf shot himself in the head on the lawn of his North Vancouver home after his friend Const.
