While their switchboard jammed, the head of PR at the airline got through to me with a “Whatinhell?” f think the person who gave me the original scoop might have ‘quickly found another line of work. Then there was the reader who asked about taking his beloved pussycat on an extended visit to Hawaii. 1 assured him that the pussycat would suffer no ill effects from the flight and might just en- joy “‘the biggest sandbox in the wortd.”” Sure. Just shortly after Miss Mew emerged from six-months quarantine! Hawaii, unlike the rest of the USA, doesn’t allow animals to enter on a piece of paper dating the last rabies shot. Hell, no. It’s six months in the slammer. The sad part of my line of work is that 1 rarely hear the good things that happen as a result of tips I've given. Perhaps it’s a compliment — people assume that things ought to go the way I say they will and that’s it. Thank God they mostly lo.
