They could con- trol a game and ‘dictate the pace from the opening tap off, but often had trouble delivering the final killing blow. Rest assured that this 1984 version of the Whitecaps should — barring injury — be able to deliver the blow many times over. With a league opening 2-0 win against San Dhiego Sockers Saturday night, and their 4-1 rout of the Cosmos in the Spring Cup, fans are looking at a team that can score goals.
