Rob Lonergan of Van- oO couver, an outstanding Rob Lo vcream distance runner who was competing for the first time after being out with an injury suffered last year, led from start to finish and recorded a time of 33 minutes and 49 seconds. But while the competition aspect was in the minds of some, the majority were out to have an enjoyable run over the scenic route and to finish. Medals were awarded to the top three finishers in each of four female and four male divisions, while Charlie Stone and Fran Mitchell received sports bags as the 25th male and female finishers and numerous other merchandise prizes were given out to hidden- placings. The four co-chairmen of the organizing committee were Len Corben, Co- ordinator of Athletics for the North and West Vancouver School Boards; Jim Martin of Carson Graham, and this year's NSSSAA President. Bil McKitnck of Hillside who is Chairman of Athletic Directors from North Shore schools; and Mike Smith, Vice-Principal of Hillside, Masters women ype was Secretary- : reasurer of the NSSSAA Gilberte Thompson when it was formed in 1958.
