Fourteen of MR. PETER CG ARDINER’S Grade
12 biology students at St. Michaels Univer
sity School wrote and passed the demanding
Advanced Placement exams of the t/ S
College Boards. The AP exams determine
how well students have mastered first year
university work in their Grade 12 year and
whether or not they have qualified to enter
second year university courses. Eight of Mr
Gardiner's students “qualified” with a 3 out of
5 grade; three earned a 4 out of 5 “well
qualified” score; and three, Eric Angus of
Victoria, Greg Eng of Port Alberni and jon
Griffin of Bainbridge Island, Washington.
were rated as “extremely well qualified” with
scores of 5 out of 5.

Mr. Ccardiner, who has been a senior science
master at SMU for fourteen years, wus
educated in England and at the University of
Victoria, where he earned his B.Sc. in biology
with first class honours Mr Gardiner
coaches badminton at SMU. is active in the
outdoor programme, and this coming year
will assume major administrative responsi
bilities while continuing to teach.
