Nevertheless, by the end of the
race he had worked bis way up
to fifth spot.

Heavy rain provided a les-
son in patience during the
fourth race of the season — the
first time Radmanovic raced in
both classes. He slid his way
into fifth for the light class and
spun out in the heavy class.

Lack of moncy affected his
position in the Regionals last
weekend. After finishing  sev-
enth in the first heat, the final
qualifying heat was extended to
30 Japs from the usual dozen.

Besides getting hit from the
rear and losing his (exhaust)
pipe,  Radmanovie’s tires,
already avo races old, had lost
so much rubber by the end of
qualifying they affected his
placing, and fus final perfor-
mance (12th out of 27).

Even if he doesn’t do better
at Chemainus in ewo weeks, it
won't worry Radmanovic too
much. He plans on moving up
a class next season and racing in
the faster shifter karts.

“Now Pm starting to win
races and I feel P'm progress
ing.” He pauses, then adds, “I
can see myself racing.”
