Dear Editor:

It was approximately two
weeks ago when I called the
number listed on the large
tree near the stairs at Secret
Beach on Park Avenue just
past 29th Street in West
Vancouver.

I spoke with Kevin who
referred me to the arborist. It
was about the tree-clearing to
provide view for the one resi-
dent who lives north of the
railroad tracks and north of
Secret Beach.

The arborist assured me
the pruning would be done in
such a way as to clear the viny
maples and provide light for
the under forest. She said rhat
she would be there to watch
every cut. They cut four fir
trees cutting a swath across
the entrance to the beach,
topping the four trees and
leaving approximately four to
five feet of tree with the lower
boughs intact — truly a
painful sight to see once a tree
is cut and left in such a fash-
ion.

focal government is capable
of this. T invite our communi
ty to view this stupid act and
wonder that the one individ:
