NV Arts Council loses
lale space

THE NORTH Vancouver Community Arts Council is busy
preparing for the spring jurying for the provincial Images
& Objects show — B.C.'s largest annual art exhibition —
but it will not be hosting the event in the space it had orig-

inally hoped to.

The arts council had planned to
hold this year’s event in Pier 96,
the newly-converted Esplanade
Avenue flea market, but plans fell
through at the last minute when
the market operator informed the
arts organization it would uo
longer be available for the exhibit,
forcing the council to scramble for
a new location.

no hard feelings towards Ander-
son,

“Fle decided to pursue his goal

council won't be involved in the
flea market, but there are other
facilities available.”’

Oostindie said artists interested
in taking part in the North Shore
jurying should drop their work off
at 1353 Pemberton Ave. on Wed-
nesday, Feb. 3, and Thursday,
Feb. 4. mo
. All work goes on display to the
public on Saturday, Feb. 6, from
7 p.m. to 9’ p.m. and Sunday,
Feb. 7,:from | p.m. to 5 p.m.

The 10 selected works chosen to-

go to the Images & Objects show
— the visual component. of the
B.C. Festival of the Arts held this
year in Trail in May — will be
displayed at the Ferry Building in

West Vancouver from Tuesday,

Feb. 9, to Monday, Feb. 22.
