It is important to exclude a
diseased material such as black-
spotted rose leaves or apple leaves
with scab to prevent spreading
disease throughout the garden.

Other material to avoid would
be material from coniferous trees,
walnut trees, horse chestnut trees
and certain others that contain
natural growth retardants,

Items from the house include
uncooked foods, coffee grounds
tea leaves, egg shells, wood fire
ash, and other scraps including
floor sweepings.

When using food waste or food
bi-products it is a good idea to
