This year Bjurman, who is ex- pecting her third child in April, has made sure her memory won't fail an the subject of maternity. Bjurman, 33, is the author of Mom's Keepsake ~— A Maternity Diary. The Si-page booklet gives an expectant mother the opportu- nity to maintain a record of her pregnancy. COMPARE PREGNANCIES “YT had the idea (to write the book) when | was pregnant with my second child. People would always ask me to compare my two pregnancies and !{ realized how much I had forgotten,’’ she said. “Most new mothers figure pregnancy is a time they’l! always remember — the morning sickness and the first day they could look fried bacon in the eye, but they do forget.”’ “When | first researched the book | found there really was nothing out there for 2 mom to keep a diary of her progress throughout the pregnancy,’’ she said. PRENATAL INFORMATION The book covers such areas as the initial visit to the doctor, prenatal classes, a birth plan, weight gain chart, favorite names, labor, delivery and stay in the hospital. Jt also contains a monthiy checklist of the baby's develop- ment and the woman's special ac- tivities, diet and any problems she may encounter. “IT tried to keep it concise because I didn’t want an expectant mother to feel she had to write in it every day,’’ she said. The book is available at Gordon Souls Books in West Vancouver and at Van Mag store in Rich- mond, Bjurman said 3,000 copies are being marketed focally, and there are plans to distribute the book across Canada.
