Society calls fora response.
The committee of ,the
Board was formed. to review
the resolutions:passed at the
1982 meeting and after
receiving legal advice
reported to the Board at its
March 1983 meeting. The
Board adopted the report
from the committee recom-
mending: sending a reply to
Mr. . Webb. stating “our
bylaws give the Board of
Directors“complete authori-
ty to manage the hospital
and to appoint committees
to the Board of Directors,
also that a resolution from
the members at large is not
valid if it represents direct
interference with the powers

letter was sent although Mr.
Webb apparently did not
receive it.

After receiving Mr.
Webb's July 14th letter, Mr.
J.W. Borthwick, the Ad-
ministrator of Lions Gate
Hospital, replied with a let-
ter on August Sth advising
him of the Board’s decision.
It is possible that Mr. Webb
wrote his letter to the Editor,
published on August 17th,
before receiving Mr. Bor-
thwick’s August Sth reply.

Although Mr. Webb is ap-
parently disturbed by these
problems in communication,
the important issue is that
these motions were con-
sidered at length by the
Board and have been dealt
with correctly.

I wish to take this oppor-
tunity to urge all former
members to renew their
