Ten years ago, Ruth Nicho! and
Leon Bibb started something.

Vancouver's hometown girl and
the sophisticated New Yorker set
this town on its ear with the Arts
Club - David H.Y. Lui production of
JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND
WELL.

40,000 people enjoyed that show
and the Arts Club Theatre was laun-
ched into the collective con-
scrousness of even casual
theatregoers. Who knows but that
JACQUES BREL wouid still be
playing if there'd been anywhere to
move it to. There wasn't, and that's
when the Revue Theatre dream
was born.

Today the Arts Club REVUE
THEATRE (situated alongside the
Granville Island Arts Club Theatre)

make it a memorable premiere than
Ruth Nichol and Leon Bibb!

Ruths and Leon first performed
together in JACQUES BREL
then again in the hit revue SIDE BY
SIDE BY SONDHEIM. Together
again for the REVUE THEATRE’s
opening production, A MUSICAL
EVENING WITH RUTH NICHOL
YAND LEON BIBB promises to be a
memorable beginning.

ed ‘'Musical Memones’’. Through
ther music, some light footwork
and personal recollections, they'll
trace their musical roots, remember
opening nights and celebrate thei
reunion in the Revue Theatre
they've dreamed of

Direction is by Bill Millerd, who
first worked with Ruth and Leon
during JACQUES BREL and takes
special pleasure in teaming them
again. Musical Director is Stan
Keen who will be remembered
from GIVE OUT THE NEWS. Jim
Hibbard, choreographer of PIPPIN
and | LOVE MY WIFE is responsi
ble for the staging of A MUSICAL
EVENING WITH RUTH AND
LEON. Pianist is Bruce Kellett,
whose last Arts Club Theatre pro-
duction was THEY'RE PLAYING
OUR SONG. Continuity is provided
by Sherman Snukal, author of

TALKING DIRTY. Costume Design
is by Philip Clarkson, Set Design is
by Alson Green and Lighting
