Here's Why.

The cost of servicing residential septic
tanks includes charges for pumpout, hauling
and disposal at the Greater Vancouver Regional
District lona wastewater treatment plant. The |
disposal fee now amounts to $7.75 per 1000
gallons of waste —a figure which cavers only a
portion of the actual cost for treating the waste.
To allow the GVRD to recover the full cost of
treatment, the disposal fee will be increased to
approximately $16 per 1000 gallons.
» The fee increase comes into effect on
