During the games, Brunswick Liens Gate Lanes’ computerized scoring system allowed carriers to have fun without having to. tret over recording points. After seeing the sport from behind a bowling ball, the carriers were taken behind the scenes for a pin’s-eve view of what happens behind the pins. In an area bowlers seldom see, the carriers watched as pins were reset and balls were returned, get- ting a short lesson in the mechanics of the sport. And for those who really en- joyed their introduction to the sport, the alley started a North Shore News carriers bowling league every Saturday afternoon. For a nominal weekly fee, bowl- ers are provided with all necessary gear and = special instruction and coaching in the finer points of 10-pin bowling. Filled with special bonuses and prizes, the league gives young bowlers a chance to sharpen the skis under the fanes’ expert in- structors, Adam Webb was one of the car- tiers at the bowling party and later joined the league. ‘It was fun, reat fun,’’ said Webb, 10, a carrier for two years.
