Murder suspect
appears in court

THE 23-YEAR-OLD man charged with the second degree murder
of Donald Richard Duplissle made a brief appearance in North
I Vancouver provincial court Wednesday. :

Edward Douglas Lakes faces the charge in connection with the
stabbing death of Duplissie, 24, who was found early Saturday
morning in the parking lot of St. Thomas Aquinas school with his
throat slashed. # .

*,: Following the brief preliminary appearance, Lakes wi remand
ed in custody to March 26 for his next court appearance.

LONE TREE CREEK BRIDGES .

Contract tenders called

TENDERS have been called for a contract to
reconstruct the Lone Tree Creek Bridges and ap-
proaches on the Garibaldi Highway 99.

The project is located about 9.4 kilometres north of
Horseshoe Bay and continues north for almost half a
kilometre.

The job involves construction and paving of four-
lane highway bridge approaches and construction of
two adjacent pre-stressed concrete stringer bridges.

One will be a single span 71 metres long and 10
