The event featured 85 SOME say the Olympics have became too much of a business. But a local group is trying to bring an Olympic-style sports festival te the focat busi- ness community. The Vancouver Corporate Challenge 2006 is planned for Sept. 9-23. Organizers are hoping for 8,000 participants in 15 sports. The event is modelled after sitnilar festivals in Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. The Calgary meet annually draws 17,000 participants from 172 companies why compete in 20 sports. Among the sports planned for the Vancouver version are basketball, bowling, darts, golt, sio-pitch, soccer, 10 km run, tug-o- war and mountain bike racing.
