“I find if [ have to spend a
lot of time on something, it’s
not going to work,” said
Meikle, a 13-year veteran of
the business. She started out
working in a salon at the ten-
der age of 17 when was
still in high school “just to
see if I'd like it.”

And like it she did.

“As soon as I started, I
knew it was for me.” More
than anything, says Mcikle,
the social aspect drew her
immediately. Of course,
good old-fashioned praise is
nothing to scoff at cither.

“The most rewarding is
when people come out of the
chair and say, ‘I love it’,” said
Meikle. While her own ideas
are ones that usually pan out,
they sometimes take a back
stat to a person’s predeter-
mined preference. These,
says Meikle, are all too often
directed by popular culture
as most often personalized
by actresses and to a lesser
degree actors.

“A lot of people are still
coming in and-asking for
Jennifer Aniston and I try to
talk them out of it... that’s
old-hat now,” said Meikle
adding that the rather simple
