DEC. 20-23: A pre-Christmas in- door skill and training soccer school for boys and girls aged six to 10 will be held at the Capilano Sportsplex. The school will be taught by Metro Gerela, head coach of the Capilano College Blues women's soccer team. He will be assisted by Silvana Burtini, a member of the Canadian women’s soccer team. For more informa- tion, call 984-1737 or 984-4977. eee DEC. 23: A fundraising hockey game between the Clearly Cana- Capilano outdoor facility near completion CAPILANO ELEMENTARY School students and area residents will have .a new multi-purpose outdoor recreational facility to use this spring. The facility is the size cf two tennis courts and, when complete, may be used for tennis, badmin- ton, voileyball, street hockey and basketball. The courts will be equipped with four basketball hoops and four hockey nets. During schcol hours Capilano students will use the. facility It will be available to the public after schoo} hours. Joanne Richardson of the Capitane Parent Society said the facility should be complete by this spring. It needs another layer of asphalt. “The only thing that’s holding us up is the weather. It nas to be warm,’’ she said. The $48,000 project started four years ago when .the Capilano Parent Society held an auction to raise funds. Money has also been con- tributed by GO B.C., North Van- couver District, North Vancouver Schoo! District #44, and the Capilano Lions Society. Belle B’s win three on weekend THE RNUE Belle B’s ringette team are on a three-game winning Streak after last weekend’s game action. The Worth-West Vancouver Ringette Association team’s win- ning ways started with a victory Friday over North Shore police and firefighters at an exhibition game. Then on Saturday, the Belle B’s travelled to Victoria for a two- game series with a fledgling Vic- toria team composed of juniors, belles, and debs. The North Shore squad posted two wins with scores of 13-9 and 11-9, coming from behind in each game. Leading the Belles in scoring was Katy Snow with i2 goals over the two games. Liz Focant added seven goals and nine assists while Katy Mayrs netted three goals and eight assists. In other ringette action, the Junior A’s defeated Surrey 8-1. Carrie McKellar filied in with a strong game between the pipes, backed up by a stalwart defence.
