NVD Council condemns federal budget cut

THE JERAL budget came
under attack Monday night at the
North Vancouver District Council
meeting.

And the district plans to ask
other municipalities to join with it
in condemning the limit being im-
posed on the federal contribution
to the Canada Assistance Plan

(CAP).

The plan is a tederal-provinctal
cost-sharing agreement chat pro-
vides services to people in need, or
those likely to be in need.

CAP provides direct federal
repayments tO municipalities in
B.C. where those municipalities
provide grants or direct services to
the community.

According to. district social
planner Rupert Downing, the
budget limit on CAP payments will
directly affect the district by:
