tam Argos romped to a con-
vincing 42-6 win over the
Coquitlam Chargers last
Sunday at Malkin Park in
Coquitlam.

Although the Argo of-
fense was impressive, it was
defensive nose guard David
Baker who sparked the win,

‘Baker's play was
outstanding, he's the type of
player who will go through a
brick wall to get the job
done,’’ said coach Storey.

Baker recorded six solo

tackles, including two sacks,
and generally created havoc
for the Coquitlam quarter-
backs.

Defensive end Carl
Uredick and linebacker
Jason Wood played a strong
defensive game for the
Argos.

Snake’? Beddell directed the
Argos offence to 392 total
yards,

Sammy Ort (three
touchdowns), Sean Sarson
(two touchdowns) and Greg

Gowe (one touchdown) en-
joyed a fine afternoons
behind the blocking of tackle
Brian Pomeroy, centre Far-
dad Moayeri and guard
Jeremy Galpin.

Argo kicker Frank lan-
torno rounded out the score
with three converts and a
50-yard single off a punt,

The Bantam Argos will be
at Norseman Park Sept. 22
at 2 p.m. to face the Ren-
frew Trojans.

The Midget Argos will
take on the Surrey Bears at
noon.

champions, Surrey
Wheelhouse.

The Deep Cove team upset
their crosstown rivals 5-3,

A two goal performance,
by Henry Vilimek, and a
powerful 35-foot winning
goal, coming from the foot
of David Webbe in the se-
cond half, put the game out
of reach for the Surrey squad.
