A revised Canadian
Forces emergency
response plan will
allow up to 10,000
military personnel to
be quickly sent to help
British Columbians in
the event of a cata-
strophic earthquake,
Attorney General Ujjal
Dosanjh announced
recently.

“The plan, calied
Operation Paladin, is
designed to give us immedi-
ate military support through
the first 72 hours following a
large-scale earthquake,” said
Dosanih.

“It provides for military
personnel and equipment to
begin deployment within six
hours of an earthquake.
