After holding their collective breath and monitoring the action at 1255 Elmwood Place for a number of days, the Mounties busted another alleged drug dealer. The RCMP*s drug enforcement officers, ted by Cph Michael Littlejohn, obtained a search warrant and raided the home on Oct. 7 after 10 p.m. Police seized three quarters of a pound of marijuana. The drug was tound stashed in a child's bedroom. The home is located within blocks of an ele- mentary school. Sonny Satendra Jit, 35, was charged with possession of a narcotic for the purpose of traf ficking. The RCMP had received numerous com- plaints from Norgate residents about the suspi- cious activities going on at the Elmwood home. Seaman said combatting North Vancouver's dope trade is becoming an increasingly difficult battle. “The number one drug being used on the North Shore is manjuana. The teen was suspected of selling dope to students at Sutherland High School. “An ex-student of the school was waiting, near the south side of the building in an area treyuented by teens who like to hang out there dunng their lunch,” Seaman said. “He had tour grams of marijuana divided into four individual packages... it doesn’t sound like much but “that’s all kids can afford to purchase at one time. They buy one gram for about $10.” Seaman said an investigation to determine whether or not charges will apply is continuing.
