The musical director of the West Vancouver Youth Band will again be teaching with Garta Sing! Gotta Dance, the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver's musical theatre summer program. The program focuses on all aspects of musical theatre including vocal tech- nique, the craft of acting, chorecgraphy, scenery production, makeup and cosrumes, Participants will be divided into groups based on age and ability. The program is open to children and youths aged nine through 19. Auditions will be scheduled to assess talent and maturity. Deadline for application is March 15. Meanwhile Mounties are suil investigating a New Year’s Cay incident at the Avalon in which a 30-year-old man was hit in the face with cither a beer bottle or a drinking glass. Police said the man needed more than 20 stitches to his face after he was struck by the glass object while he was dancing on the dance floor. The glass thrower is described as being Caucasian, age 25, 79 kg (175 Ib.), mus- cular build, ight brown hair and medium height. He may have been wearing a black leather jacket.
