Dubreuil said he was not certain
what the site’s retail component

would inchide, but he noted that in
the past few vears he has been
approached by more than three
dozen business peaple with ideas for
the empty office building on one
corner of the shipyard site.

Proposals for the space included
offices, an Internet store and a retail
clothing store.

Dubreuil noted production com-
panies have performed work to
upgrade parts of the vacant shipyard,
bur it could still cost hundreds of
thousands of dollars to sufficiently
upgrade clectrical and_ fire-preven-
tion systems.

Improvements will be made as
plans for the site are approved,
Dubreuil said.
