Kauai fatality
A WEST Vancouver woman died en Monday in a heli-
copter crash on Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands,

Barbara Richards was pronounced dead on arrival to
hospital, according to Kauai Police Insp. Dennis Higashi.

Richards’ husband, William, was listed in critieal con-
dition to press time as a result of the 1 p.m, incident
onder sunny weather conditions.

The Interisland Helicopters chopper pilot and two
other passengers were listed in critical and stable condi-
tion, according to Higashi.

Anterican officials are investigating the crash.

Extortion attempt

A WEST Vancouver businessman was ¢ie apparent ran-
