Howie Hambleton, acting su- perintendent of Pacific Rim Na- tional Park, recently announced that dogs will no longer be allow- ed in these areas of Pacific Rim. The increase in visitors to the Schooner campsite and the Broken Group Islands has led to a grow- ing number of conflicts between domestic animals and wildlife, Dogs have been the biggest problem, as they are often left to run at large, harassing park visitors and wildlife. “For your pets, your carping neighbors and the park wildlife’s sake, please leave your dogs at home when camping at Schooner Cove and Broken Group Islands in Pacific Rim,” say park of- ficials.
