World dance premiere opens in NV THE PREMIERE of choreographer Serge Bennathan’s fuil-length con- temporary dance work, The Song of the Nightingale, opens at Cen- tennial Theatre on Thursday, April 5 Bennathan’s work is about the love of books. “From this love came the desire to create a dance piece which could be read out loud,’’ says Bennathan. “A man finds a new sense of truth and po- | THE eevwewenocnnwerewrseae, etry through reading a book. At the same time, the book nourishes itself with the warmth and the dreams of the reader.” For his work, Bennathan has enlisted Arne Eigenfeldt to create an original score, which will be performed live during the perfor- mances.
