RCMP is not raising funds NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP department is continuing to receive calls from the public inquiring about telephone solicitations for Funds from a firm preparing a publication for the B.C. Crime Prevention Association. The police department says it supports the aims of the associa- tion, but it does not support the association's current method of soliciting funds. Those being solicited are under the impression they are giving their money to support police work. But the funds being solicited relate to publications on behalf of the association only, and not the police. The RCMP does not solicit funds from the public. Concerns regarding the fund-raising by the association may be forwarded to the North Vancouver RCMP community policing section ut 985- 131.
