MAILBOX ook praised Dear Editor: Hf you have not read Doug Col- fins’ book, The Best and Worst of Doug Collins, you are mistreating yourselves. Many of his short chapters are extremely hilarious. Even if you do not agree with everything Doug Collins writes you will get captivated with every chapter. Personally, | have yet to disagrce with any words of wisdom that flow from his pen. 1] wonder how many North Shore readers are aware that Doug Collins wrote another best-seller? The book title is PLOLW. Doug was captured at Dunkirk and escaped 10 times from the Germans and their satellite allies. It is perhaps the best book to come out after the Second World War on escape and evasion. I have read it twice and enjoyed it even sore the second time. P.O.W. can be found in the West Vancouver Library; I have also seen it in several libraries in the United States. John Rowland West Vancouver Don’t buy submarines OPEN LETTER TO PRIME MINISTER MULRONEY A recent column regarding nu- clear submarines from our local newspaper, the North Shore News, by Bob Hunter, expresses my view much better than [ could have done. I don’t know how much response you're getting trom Ca- nadians on this issue, but 1 suggest fo you that most of us are strongly opposed to purchasing, building and operating nuclear submarines, We don't want them, we don't need them, we can’t afford them. Don't buy them, ELL. Devlin North Vancouver DRAPERIES BY S. LAURSEN ~™ CUSTOM. Combined Furniture simply outgrew their shop at 1550 Marine Drive, North Vancouver, so they built a new store at the same loca- tion and called it Living Space Interiors. “We're very excited about the larger floor space and open floor plan’, said manager Ross Bonetti dur- ing a recent interview. “There is now room to showcase contemporary furnishings from around the world right here on the North Shore. Its a dream we've worked toward for many years’ A trip through the store will introduce you to a large selection of leather, lacquer, marble and Pies pine. There’s Italian lighting, a selection of wall units occasional chairs and bedroom suites. All are clearly marked with price and country of origin for your brows- ing information. To summarize, the store and the name are new — the store location and courteous staff are the same. If modern furniture and contemporary accessories are your cup of tea, get a taste of the international flavour of Living Space Interiors.
