Aloha Swim.

Entrants will attempt to swim
the 6,000-mile distance from Van-
couver to Hawaii over three mon-
ths.

Each pool length swum will be
equal to three miles. A total of
2,100 lengths must be completed in
the journey.

A $30 entry fee will be charged.
A grand prize draw for all partici-
pants is being organized.

Walker continues undefeated in
the Adidas Canadian junior tennis
championships being held at the
Burnaby Tennis Club.

In opening round action Mon-
day (Aug. 18) the second-seeded
Walker defeated Edmonton's
Jimmy Fawcett 6-2, 6-2.

On Tuesday, Walker, 15, drop-
ped Chicoutimi, Quebec's Faul
David Roy, 6-1, 6-4 in boys’ 16-
and-under action.

One of only three B.C. players
in the surviving 32, Walker was
playing ia the tournament’s
quarter finals to press time Thurs-
day.

A total of 120 under-18 and
unde;-16 tennis players qualified to
compete in the tournament.
